FACELIFT SURGERY

Face lift surgery is a cosmetic surgical operation performed to make face look younger.

A facelift, also known as a rhytidectomy is a type of cosmetic surgery procedure usually involves the removal of excess facial skinto reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and other visible signs of aging, with or without the tightening of underlying tissues, and the redraping of the skin on the patient's face and neck, with the goal of improving the overall appearance of the face and neck.

Types Of Facelift Surgery :

There are three main types of face lift surgery

Traditional

A traditional face lift will involve your surgeon making a surgical incision along your hairline, your scarring will be hidden within the hair and natural creases of the face and it will fade quickly until it is barely visible. The skin will then be lifted and stitched into place along the original incision and any excess skin removed. Minimal Access Cranial Suspension (MACS) The main difference between this type of face lift surgery and the traditional method is that the incisions made are smaller and the tightening of facial muscles and removal of excess fat is done through these small surgical incisions. Excess fat can also be removed using this face lift procedure.

Keyhole Surgery

keyhole surgery involve your surgeon making several very small incisions into the skin on your face. Then insert a telescopic camera, called an endoscope, beneath the skin and the live image will be displayed on a monitor - it is from this that the surgeon can see exactly which muscles to tighten and how much excess fat to remove, if any. Keyhole surgery offers a short recovery time and will result in less scarring. Facelift Recovery: When your face lift procedure is completed, a bandage may be placed around your face to minimize swelling and bruising. A thin tube may be inserted to drain any excess blood or fluid that may collect under the skin, which is removed the day after surgery.

After your surgery there is usually some bruising of the cheeks, discomfort is usually mild and can be controlled with mild painkillers. It is normal for there to be some numbness of the skin of the cheeks and ears. This will usually disappear in a few weeks. Your face may be swollen after the surgery. You should not do strenuous activity, for at least two weeks after your operation.
